Biography

Stephan Schultz was born and raised in a small town called 'Gemert' in The Netherlands.

At the age of 16 he started playing the acoustic guitar. Soon after that he got his first electric guitar and amp from his parents and the Schultz-residence would never be the same!

As his love and passion for the guitar and music in general grew stronger by the day Stephan decided to do 'the sensible thing' and he went to College to study marketing. After graduating he went on to study at a business university. During his first year of university he decided it was time to drop out, follow his heart and pursue a music career...

The university books got swapped for books on guitar techniques and a lot of guitar mags. Stephan is, accept for a few basic lessons, a completely self-taught musician. Learning licks and riffs from watching and listening to his heroes.

That year he practised every day and auditioned for the Dutch Rock Academy. He got accepted... only to drop out again after 8 weeks! He felt he could learn more from performing on stage, writing and recording songs end continue his own guitar study.

Shortly after his departure he joined various Dutch bands as lead-guitarist, bandleader, tour manager and (co-)songwriter.

After intensive national and international tours and television and radio performances, session work and (co-)writing songs Stephan started looking for new ways to create music... and along came Stream of Passion.

Steve joined Stream of Passion in March 2007 and started writing songs and riffs right away. The result of the bands hard labour can be heard on the bands second album 'The Flame Within'.
